It's one of New Zealand's most beautiful regions for a wedding or intimate elopement, and we've been photographing both for over a decade.

I'm Rachel, and I've been photographing weddings across Northland for well over a decade - from sweeping clifftop ceremonies at Kauri Cliffs, to barefoot beach elopements in Paihia, to intimate vineyard gatherings in the hills above Kerikeri. I know this region, its light, and its character in a way that takes years to learn.
I photograph in a documentary way, but I'm right there with you throughout the day, chatting, getting people relaxed, helping everyone forget the camera is there... and that's when the real moments start to happen. That's where the good stuff lives.
I cover the full Northland region: Bay of Islands, Kerikeri, Whangarei, Paihia, Russell, Tutukaka Coast, Mangawhai, Matakana, Kaitaia and the Far North. Travel is included for qualifying packages. Based in Kerikeri, we know Northland intimately. Wherever your wedding takes you in the region, we'll be there.
Bay of Islands
Paihia, Russell, Kerikeri, Opua, Waitangi and the surrounding islands. Baylys Farm near Paihia, the Duke of Marlborough in Russell, and Omata Estate vineyard are among our most-photographed venues in this part of the world. The water views, island backdrops, and evening light here are extraordinary.
Whangarei
Whangarei city, Tutukaka Coast, Whangarei Heads, and Parua Bay. Vinegar Hill is a favourite outdoor venue, and the Tutukaka Coast offers clifftop ceremony settings that rival anything in New Zealand. The bush-fringed properties and harbour views around Whangarei Heads are genuinely underrated for weddings.
Mangawhai & Matakana
Boutique vineyard and beach weddings in Northland's elegant southern stretch. Mangawhai has a cluster of beautiful private properties and coastal venues, and Matakana's wine country brings a relaxed, sophisticated feel. Particularly popular for smaller, intimate weddings and weekend elopements.
Far North
Doubtless Bay, Karikari Peninsula, and the sweeping coastlines beyond. Karikari in particular has some of New Zealand's most unspoiled beaches, and Doubtless Bay offers private waterfront settings that feel genuinely remote. If you're dreaming of something wild, unhurried, and far from the crowds, the Far North delivers.
Kerikeri & surrounds
Our home base, and one of Northland's most established wedding towns. Liddington Gardens, Stone Store, Rainbow Falls, Kerikeri Basin, and the rolling orchards and farmland around the town offer an incredible variety of settings - from formal garden ceremonies to barefoot celebrations in the long grass. We know every corner of it.

Booking a Northland wedding photographer
Do you travel throughout Northland?
Yes. Travel is included throughout Northland for our Complete Coverage package. We're based in Kerikeri, so Bay of Islands, Whangarei, Mangawhai and everywhere in between is home territory for us.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend 9 - 18 months for busy Northland spring and summer dates. Popular weekends book quickly, especially around New Year and February. Reach out as early as you can.
Do you shoot elopements?
Absolutely. Northland is one of New Zealand's best elopement destinations - the Bay of Islands and Far North coastline offer unforgettable backdrops for intimate ceremonies.
Do you offer video alongside photos?

Do you photograph weddings in Whangarei?
Yes, regularly. We cover Whangarei city, the Tutukaka Coast, Whangarei Heads, Parua Bay, and surrounding areas. If you're planning a wedding anywhere in the Whangarei district, reach out and we'll let you know if we're available.
What are the best wedding venues in Northland outside the Bay of Islands?
A few that stand out: Paheke Lodge in Ohaeawai, a private rural estate with real character (and the setting for a New Zealand Wedding Magazine feature); Vinegar Hill near Whangarei for outdoor celebrations; and the boutique coastal properties around Mangawhai and Tutukaka. There are genuinely beautiful options across the whole region.
Do you cover Mangawhai and the Tutukaka Coast?
Yes. Both are within our Northland coverage area and we love photographing in both. Mangawhai has some lovely vineyard and beach settings, and the Tutukaka Coast is spectacular coastal scenery. Travel is included for qualifying packages, so reach out to check your date.
